
Dr. Balogun completed his basic neurosurgical training at the university College Hospital, Ibadan, and proceeded to the University of Toronto, Canada for his clinical fellowships in surgical neuro-oncology/skull base at the Toronto Western Hospital, Toronto, and pediatric neurosurgery at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto. He spent further time as a research fellow in anatomy of the skull base at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh, USA. He is a faculty at the Department of Surgery, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan and a consultant neurosurgeon to the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan. He has served on the Neurooncology and pediatric committees of the WFNS, a past co-chair of the International Outreach Committee of SNO, Pioneer and Immediate past President of SNOSSA and a lancet commissioner on neurorehabilitation (Neurooncology working group).
