
Martin Catala is a MD from the University of Paris trained in Neurology. He also learned developmental biology defending a PhD at the Collège de France.
He is currently professor of Histology and Embryology at Sorbonne-Université (Paris) and physician at Pitié-Salpêtrière hospital in Paris (neurological department).
His main interests are genetic diseases affecting the fetus and also malformative human syndromes affecting the central nervous system.
In research he worked on the development of the neural tube and on a group of diseases called ciliopathies.
